I have been a photographer for over 20 years starting with an apprenticeship in Printing & Photography in Germany. After my training I moved to London to work as an assistant with several top advertising photographers. Here I gained an incredible amount of experience working on anything from big car shoots in the US, the Sahara Desert and Scotland – to film sets (yes I got to hold Colin Firth’s hand!). I worked with food and still life photographers where I learned to look for the smallest detail and how to use studio lighting to create the best effect.

I then set up my own business working for a variety of clients including Mothercare, Tesco, Sainsburys, Canon, BBC Good Homes, The Red Cross, Moshi Moshi Sushi Restaurants, The Guardian as well as Corporate Portraiture for City law firms.

After getting married and having one precious daughter we decided to leave the big city and move to the countryside here in Upper Nithsdale Valley, Dumfriesshire where we have been for almost 10 years. Being a full time Mum was wonderful but once my daughter was at school a few years, it was time to pick up the camera and being a real ‘people person’ (I do love a chat!) I decided to take up Family Photography. I have recently taken up Newborn Photography  which is proving to be especially rewarding. What a delight to record these magical moments.

I wish I had started this earlier as I had no idea how much fun and satisfying it was creating precious memories for my customers. Kids are unpredictable, fun and love to roam, especially the young ones and require lots of patience and luckily I have heaps as my customers tell me.

As a parent myself I am highly aware of how quickly a child grows up and my ultimate aim is to skilfully capture these moments in time for you to treasure now and in years to come. I can take photos in my studio or outdoors in the lovely countryside surroundings.
